Telman Seysembekov – well-known scientist-practitioner, academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor. Telman Zeynullovich was born on January 8th in 1938 in Pavlodar. After graduating from Karaganda State Medical Institute in 1966, he continued to work within the walls of his alma mater for more than 30 years. He passed through all stages from assistant to head of the department. Moreover, he was in a position of provost for eight years and was engaged in scientific researches.
In 1998, during the establishment of new research institutions in Astana, professor Telman Seysembekov was assigned as a director of the affiliate of Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Cardiology and Head of the Department of Akmola Medical Academy (now - Medical University of Astana ) due to his tremendous medical, educational, scientific and managerial experience.
Currently, Telman Seysembekov continues to work, teach and prepare young generation of doctors not only for the capital, but for the whole Kazakhstan. Fifteen doctors and fourty-six candidates of medical sciences were trained under his leadership. Furthermore, he is the author of more than 700 publications.
Telman Zeynullovich`s works mainly focus on pertaining problems in therapy and its divisions such as cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, endocrinology and hematology.
Telman Zeynullovich has a number of awards, which reflect his contribution to the development of medicine and science. Professor Seysembekov was selected as "Man of 2002" by American Biographical Institute, nominated with "21st Century Award for Achievement» by the International Biographical Centre (Cambridge, England), awarded with a diploma and a medal of IBC. In addition, he was awarded in the category "Golden Stethoscope" for the development and introduction of new methods of diagnosis and treatment. Telman Zeynullovich is a winner of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan competition called "Grant Medical Sanofi-Aventis 2008" in the nomination "Diabetology". He was given a title of "The best teacher of high school in 2008" by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Honored Worker of Education of Kazakhstan. In addition, he was awarded a "For merits in development of science of Kazakhstan." sign. Finally, Telman Zeynullovich was granted "Personality in Cardiology" title for his contribution to the development of cardiology in Kazakhstan and got “Ak Zhurek” medal of distinction issued by the Presidium of the Association of Cardiologists.
